Emery has a professional experience in more than 15 years of management in nonprofit arts and cultural institutions and as a transgender identified LGBTQ community organizer. As Deputy Director at SNMA, his responsibilities include programming with an LGBTQ+ focus at the museum and library spaces, SNMA’s nationally-recognized education program – Stonewall National Education Project, managing grant funded projects and community partnerships.
In February 2019, Emery was honored by the OUTShine LGBT Film Festival Miami Fort Lauderdale for our outstanding work programming LGBTQ+ events in the South Florida community. In 2017, Emery completed The Cultural and Ethnic Arts Executive Leadership Certificate Program (CEA), through the Institute for Ethical Leadership at Rutgers Business School. In 2017, he was honored as one of the “Out 50” LGBTQ leaders by the South Florida Gay News.
