Job Description: Associate Fundraising Director & Manager of Stonewall National Education Programing

Position Description

The Associate Fundraising Director is responsible for raising funds for the department of education and other special projects conducted by Stonewall National Museum, Archives, & Library. This includes solicitations, selling event packages, research, outreach, attending events, and working closely with the executive director and director of development.

The Manager of Education coordinates the educational efforts of the Stonewall National Museum, Archives, & Library. Reporting directly to the executive director, the Manager coordinates the annual spring Stonewall Symposium and manages SNEP partnerships with educational leaders and sponsors. They will staff the newly formed National Task Force, and coordinate with the development team on raising funds, including the annual education fundraiser. They will work with the executive director on ensuring all aspects of Stonewall’s activities include educational opportunities for our community. The manager will seek out corporate support, while continuing to grow SNEP participation at the Symposium and other events and activities.

 

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Fundraising across all platforms for the areas of responsibility.
  • SNEP Outreach – Curate outreach emails and messaging for SNEP listserv, specific to educators, administrators, school leaders and education advocates. Design and continually update SNEP resources and the SNEP sections of the website. 
  • SNEP Symposium – Manage the annual SNEP Symposium including curating the program offerings, managing tracks and presenters, and coordinating with participants. 
  • Partnership Management – Be the direct contact for SNEP partners, including sponsors for SNEP Symposium and other SNEP programming such as the Teaching Fellowship. 

Primary Objectives 

  • Become well connected with the national donor community, focus on corporate and other specialized funding sources.
  • Ensure continuity and efficiency of SNEP Symposium 
  • Better understand and reach SNEP community and needs
  • Maintain connection between SNEP and SNMAL offerings with focus on Inclusive Curriculum/LGBTQ+ History and Culture.

  • Dramatically increase funding and sources of funding.
  • Dramatically increase SNEP and other events participation and engagement.

Considerations Fundraising experience in a competitive marketplace/Event-planning and coordination background a plus.
