STONEWALL NATIONAL MUSEUM & ARCHIVES

Year-End Giving

Stonewall National Museum, Archives, and Library matters, and your support makes the difference.

We call attention to the LGBTQ+ way of life, our culture, our history, and put it in perspective. Knowledge is power and knowledge is what comprises our exhibits, library, and archives.

In 2022, we were told not to say GAY, WOKE became a bad word, our history was off limits, parents of trans children were threatened with lawsuits or worse, and democracy is on the line. Here in Florida officials have been fired and replaced because of political disagreements, threatening our way of life and our hard-won protections. As an organization we serve on the front lines in this battle, making your immediate financial support, so important.

Stonewall is out front:

  • Fighting book bans,
  • Calling attention to “Don’t Say Gay,” and
  • Speaking out against hate and prejudice locally and nationally.

We have been featured in:

  • the Miami Herald,
  • PBS-TV,
  • the Sun Sentinel,
  • CBS, and numbers of other local and national papers and in other media platforms.

In addition:

  • We received a vitally important library from world renowned historian, Jonathan Ned Katz. The books are now on display in our museum and will live in our archives.
  • Started the Women’s Fund to reach parity between women and men in our archives and library,
  • Established the Circle of Pride to encourage people to Come Out,
  • Forged relationships to take on negative media representation of our community by providing facts and historic context, and
  • Started planning for a March on Tallahassee, January 21, 2023, that follows in the footsteps of all those who came before us in the struggle for equality, in the fight for AIDS funding, for basic civil and human rights.

PLEASE, as you consider your end of year giving, be generous. We keep the history and culture of the LGBTQ+ alive by protecting and sharing our collections and objects, so people know our contributions to the world and keeping us relevant in these troubled times.

Your gift makes a difference. Join in our crusade and visit stonewall-museum.org.

Your direct support is invaluable as we prepare to celebrate our 50th anniversary, reminding the world that HISTORY=PRIDE.

Stonewall National Museum and Archives provides the historic context as we prepare for a better tomorrow. Your dollars make it possible for us to remain on the frontlines supporting the gallant work of our fellow LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters in this struggle. The LGBTQ+ community stands up for itself. If we do not stand up no one will stand up for us.

Be loud with us, be informed with us, and work with us to ensure a better world for ourselves and generations yet to come. Give today.

Thank you for your generosity.
