Courting Mr. Lincoln by Louis Bayard Louis Bayard’s acclaimed novel offers a vivid reimagining of Abraham Lincoln’s early years in Springfield, exploring the intertwined lives of Lincoln, Mary Todd, and his close companion Joshua Speed. Blending meticulous historical detail with rich, character‑driven storytelling, the book invites readers to consider the emotional world that shaped a future president. Film Selection: Am I OK?
Forgery crimes…police entrapment in public restrooms…monsters on the loose! Let’s lighten up already. We heard you.

Numerous films over the past four decades have addressed the coming out journey with most focusing on teens or 20-something’s. This film delays it a decade or so. One critic dubs Am I OK? as a “low stakes dramedy,” but our 30-something protagonist might think the storm of sexual confusion churning in her head is not for the faint of heart. A buddy film in spirit, Am I OK? strikes deep chords as it trips along lightly.

For the cinema curious, check out the 1964 Alfred Hitchcock film, Marnie which can also be read as a story about a sexually confused woman. At the center of this psychological thriller is Tippi Hedren, who just so happens to be the grandmother of Am I OK? star, Dakota Johnson.

What the film on HBO Max and Prime Video.
