Growing from Strength

Building America’s Premier LGBTQ+ Cultural Institution

Stonewall National Museum, Archives & Library · Fort Lauderdale, Florida

We are not building from scratch. We are building from strength.

For over 50 years, Stonewall has done something no other institution has done: preserved the complete story of LGBTQ+ life in America. The art, the activism, the joy, the struggle, the brilliance. All of it. Now, backed by half a century of disciplined, uninterrupted institutional work, we are building their permanent home.

This is one of those rare moments when the opportunity to create something lasting exists right now. 40,000 square feet. The world’s largest LGBTQ+ library. Not a tribute to struggle — a monument to brilliance.

A home that cannot be banned. Cannot be silenced. Cannot be undone.

“What better way to demonstrate our resolve than to build a monument that itself makes a statement — sharing our family story and celebrating the brilliant lives lived and achievements realized.”
Robert Kesten
President & CEO, Stonewall National Museum
